Grade Six: Citizen Journalism

Big Idea: How can 21st Century tools leverage our voice, our ideas, and our interests?

Students will participate in a variety of media workshops that relate to 20th and 21st Century Journalism and Storytelling. They will have an opportunity to learn and use a variety of mediums, including audio tools, video editing, photography and text to express themselves and collaborate with others. They will be encouraged to think critically about content (print or media) and will gain a deeper understanding of how they can safely and effectively use web-based resources to learn and share ideas that have meaning and relevance to local and world issues.

All students deemed Gifted by the HWDSB Criteria will be invited to attend this program. Parents/Guardians may contact the child’s school directly if there are any specific questions about this process.
